| 'Earth Paintings' are a complete departure for me. One that has re-ignited my passion for painting and one I find totally exhilarating.
As a wildlife artist, composition, detail, anatomy and accuracy are paramount. If the slightest thing is 'off', a painting will not work. It can be agonizing work and requires a great deal of 'attention to detail'. While I found it very rewarding to connect with the animals I paint - and the collectors who have appreciated my work - my Soul was craving something different.
I have travelled the world a great deal - and found each place I visited had it's own special 'energy' - the resonance of the 'location' offering it's own personal inspirations to me. My Earth paintings are the impressions of some of those places - and come completely through my Soul and it's connection to Nature.
Each painting is done on location and is created using only raw earth pigments and my bare hands. No brushes or tools of any kind are used. It is a completely organic and dramatically rewarding experience for me as an artist.
